Disney will bring MuppetVision 3D* to Apple Vision Pro, giving fans a new way to experience the classic attraction. Although the Hollywood Studios version closed in June 2025, Disney worked to preserve the show before shutting it down.

Brian Henson, son of Jim Henson, confirmed that the preserved experience will arrive on VR headsets, including Apple Vision Pro. However, Disney has not shared a release date yet.

A Show with Deep Roots

MuppetVision 3D* opened on May 16, 1991, at Disney-MGM Studios, now called Hollywood Studios. Later, a second version launched at Disney California Adventure in 2001.

The attraction mixed 3D film, animatronics, live performers, and special effects. Guests watched from a theater styled after the Muppet Show stage. Meanwhile, bubbles, water sprays, and fireworks effects added playful surprises.

Over time, attendance declined, especially after Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened nearby in 2019. Eventually, Disney closed the show to make room for a new Monsters, Inc. area.

What Vision Pro Users Can Expect

Reports suggest Disney captured the attraction in 3D before it closed. Henson said viewers may even choose any seat in the virtual theater. Therefore, Apple Vision Pro users could enjoy a flexible, immersive experience.

Additionally, Disney may offer the show through an app or Disney+ integration. Some expect a fully immersive environment that recreates the Muppet Theater itself.

Disney also plans to support other VR headsets, not just Apple Vision Pro. Still, the headset’s advanced display could make it an ideal platform.

For now, fans must wait for more details. However, the preservation effort ensures that MuppetVision 3D* will live on. As virtual reality grows, classic attractions may find new life beyond theme park gates.
