Apple Original Films is developing Sacrament, a new thriller featuring actor Damson Idris, known for his performances in F1 and Snowfall.
The project brings Idris back into Apple’s entertainment lineup following his appearance in the racing film F1.

Additionally, filmmaker Jonathan Levine has joined the production as director, while Idris will serve as both actor and producer.
The announcement, reported on October 26, 2026, introduces another suspense-driven project to Apple’s growing film portfolio.
However, the movie remains in early development, and Apple has not announced a release date.
Sacrament Follows a Dangerous Hunt in Utah
The story centres on two former Chicago police officers who now work as private contractors.
Their latest assignment involves tracking a thief who has escaped to a remote township in Sacrament, Utah.
Initially, the mission appears straightforward, with both contractors expecting to locate their target and complete the job.
However, the situation quickly becomes dangerous when they encounter unexpected resistance.
Soon, the pair find themselves heavily outnumbered and fighting to survive.
Consequently, their pursuit transforms into a high-stakes struggle against overwhelming odds.
The isolated Utah setting adds another layer of tension to the film’s survival-focused storyline.
Snowfall Writers Reunite With Idris
The upcoming production also reunites Idris with writers Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson.
Both previously worked on Snowfall, the FX crime drama that helped establish Idris as a leading television actor.
Additionally, Mileti and Wilson served as co-executive producers on the acclaimed series Fargo.
Their experience with crime stories and complex characters could prove valuable to the new thriller.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Levine will oversee the film’s direction, bringing the screenplay to the screen.
Apple Studios and Chernin Entertainment Join Forces
Apple Studios will develop Sacrament, while Chernin Entertainment will handle production through its existing first-look feature agreement with Apple.
This arrangement continues the collaboration between the two companies on original film projects.
Furthermore, Idris’s involvement as a producer gives him a creative role beyond his performance.
However, Apple has not revealed additional cast members or a production schedule.
Release Date Remains Unconfirmed
For now, audiences must wait for further announcements about filming and distribution.
The project has no confirmed premiere date, and Apple has not shared a trailer.
Nevertheless, the combination of Idris, experienced crime-drama writers, and a survival-focused plot makes Sacrament a noteworthy upcoming Apple Original Film.
