One Million Videos sold on iTMS
It seems as though the Jobs-mobile is on full throttle. MacWorld UK reports today that the iTunes Music Store has sold over one million videos since the launch of payed video content on October 12th. Even more amazingly, all the video content sold included only music videos, a smattering of TV shows, and Pixar shorts. Can you imagine what will happen when the iTMS starts offering a selection even half the size of Netflix?Share

When will Lost be available in the UK to buy?

October 31 2005 at 1:47 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI would be interested in seeing the figures for the UK only - I think the iVideos are horribly overpriced here. Maybe it's just me, but, music videos always seem very throw-away (irrespective of a ludicrous budget) not worth much more than a quid a pop.

What my prediction is, Apple will release an OFFICIAL iPod video instead of an iPod that does video with a resolution that is in between the current size video and standard def DVDx. The iTMS would sell both versions of the video, larger for the iPod videos and the smaller for iPod that can do video. How many of us watch Family Guy episodes smaller then 720x480 at full-size on your 20 inch Apple monitors? Anyone? Any takers?
October 31 2005 at 12:19 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI wonder though, why so many people bought the tv shows. Perhaps I'm just of the bittorrent culture here in non-english speaking europe where we have no other distribution of american/brit media that isn't at least a season late. Lost has been a HUGE hit in France even though it hasn't been distributed on TV or cable.

I'm sure NBC, FOX and others will be on iTunes by January. If SJ can get disney and pixar to agree to put all the Pixar movies on there, that would be a great start. Movie studios need proof that it will work. But what would be the right price? 4.95?
October 31 2005 at 12:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis is encouraging, though I wish more TV shows had been sold. That way, Apple could turn to the networks and demonstrate that a good number of people are willing to make those purchases
