Apple Park Visitor Center Closes Exhibition for Major Refresh

Apple has temporarily closed the exhibition space inside the Apple Park Visitor Center while it carries out refurbishment work. Although the rest of the visitor center remains open, guests can no longer access the interactive exhibition that has welcomed visitors for nearly a decade.

The exhibition first opened in 2017 and featured a detailed scale model of Apple Park. Visitors could use an iPad to view augmented reality overlays that revealed information about Apple’s iconic circular headquarters. The attraction launched years before Apple introduced the Vision Pro headset.

Exhibition Space Under Renovation

Apple has confirmed that an update is currently underway. Notices on the Visitor Center website and inside the building ask guests to excuse the temporary changes while improvements take place. Despite the closure, the retail store continues operating as normal.

Customers can still shop for Apple products and schedule Apple Vision Pro demonstrations. Only the dedicated exhibition area remains unavailable during the renovation.

What Could Be Changing?

Apple has not explained what the refurbishment includes. As a result, visitors can only speculate about the company’s plans. The large Apple Park model occupies a significant portion of the exhibition area, leading some observers to wonder whether Apple will redesign or even remove the long-standing display.

The timing has also raised questions because the exhibit has remained largely unchanged since its debut. At the same time, Apple now offers separate Vision Pro demonstration areas that deliver more advanced augmented and virtual reality experiences than the original iPad-based installation.

Visitor Experience May Evolve

Reports also suggest that Apple has gradually changed how it uses Vision Pro demo areas. Instead of focusing only on headset demonstrations, some stores now use these spaces more often for customer seating and general assistance.

That shift could influence how Apple redesigns the exhibition area at Apple Park. A refreshed space may better reflect the company’s current products while offering greater flexibility for visitors.

Although Apple has not announced a reopening date, the temporary closure signals that the Visitor Center is preparing for its first major update in years. Until then, visitors can continue exploring the retail store while awaiting the return of one of Apple’s most distinctive public attractions.
