umm.. when i upgraded to 1.0 beta, adium upgraded some things when updating.


anybody know if
is it safe to downgrade to .89?

so i just ran the v.89 of adium after using the beta, and all aim accounts were broken...



anyone else experiencing this?

It's funny.. I can connect on one AIM account, but not on the other. I get a temporary ban from AOL because the connection is refused too many times.

But.. the other account works fine.

Using 1.0b8, no problems at all for me. My co-worker is on the same version, and has been having problems all day.

Apparently if you have few enough contacts, you don't run into the problem. Presumably because it's not requesting enough buddy icons to trigger the disconnect. It's not clear where that line is -- one account with 7 contacts seems to work fine. Another account with ~30 or so does not.

In my case, all my AIM contacts were lost. They can see me but I can't.
Even when I open only ichat.
How can I recover them?

I am using the 1.0b8 versin and can connect just fine to my AIM...

i have 1.0b8 and about 10 contacts on, and no issues here.

As detailed in a couple tickets such as #4457, Adium with joscar 'pushes the limits' of the AIM rate limit nearly to the brink in an attempt to be überfast... and with large buddy lists, in particular, doesn't gracefully back off yet when it approaches the boundary of being kicked off. This existing problem exacerbated the server problems and made Adium 1.0b users more likely to experience a kick."

Isn't AOL utter garbage? So who but a total idiot would use AIM? If I want to chat with the President, I'll just shoot myself.

Not all of us have control over what chat programs our friends and family use (some of which may not be as computer savvy as you).

That said, not only is Adium now broken, but for some reason as of last night the AOL connection in iChat is as well. I'm not in front of the Mac to look at exact details, but it has been kept up to date and I have about 40 'buddies'. Is anyone else having problems with iChat?

One of my two AIM accoutns didn't work at first, but after waiting a bit, it's fine.
