I think that all those people who hated my last two picks for Rig of the Day will like this one. What's not to like, there's a PowerBook, an 4th gen iPod, a Macintosh 512K and an ImageWriter. No need for a flaming desk, or a wall of monitors. And let's all appreciate, for a moment, the similiarty in industrial design between the iPod and the Macintosh. Everything old is new again.

If you'd like to see your own rig featured here, simply upload photos into our group Flickr pool (which is full of things that are decidedly not rigs at the moment). We select one image to highlight each day, and crown a Rig of the Week on Sundays.

This looks very familiar as my "Fat" Mac sits in a place of honor, next to my PB, and still boots although not for extended periods as a high voltage transistor is a bit flakey.
I did toss my ImageWriter I a while back but have my original Mac packing box and carrying case.
Great pic!!!

We used to have those Mac 512K (i think that's the one, at least it looks like it)in the computer lab way back when I was in the 7th grade many moons ago. That was my first introduction to computers. Ah the memories.

The reason we all appreciate Apple: simplicity in design. Obviously the ethos has not changed a lot over the years.

Thanks for choosing it, Scott (even though I forgot to crop it after I straightened it).
Check out the rest of the set, I think some of the other pics are better: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gesteves/sets/72157594175428793/

It must be a good idea because I had a 512K Enhanced.
And, ah, the Imagewriter. One often wanted to throw the loud-ass, cranky thing out of the nearest window.

My 512K sits in its bag in my closet along with my imagewriter I printer. I don't have room on my desk to keep it out and running, but with it's Apple HD20 (External 20 Mg. hard drive) it still works. The Fat Mac was my first computer in 1986 and I have always stayed the course. The GUI and the all in one design sold me.
