DO NOT USE THIS!
The source code is stolen. See discussion on Digg: http://digg.com/apple/New_torrent_client_for_OSX_Released_Bitrocket

Transmission is open source under the MIT license. He just needs to credit m0k.org where credit is due.

Here is the license. http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php

I understand the license... but the fact is that he hasn't given credit where credit is due.
By 'stolen' i don't mean physically or electronically taken what is not free, but i mean used without permission or credit.
As far as the developers' credibility... look at their name: Clone Software, Ltd. http://www.clonesoftware.net/
Their site is a blank wordpress blog with a fancy theme.

It seems to me while they may be jerks for not crediting the orginals coders, they are following the license which doesn't require permission or credit.

Interesting...
When i first visited the site, there was no mention of libtorrent.
http://bitrocket.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=3
i found this forum post where the developer acknowledges the fact and states the he has added the information to the site (which is now there).
Ok. crisis averted.

The author of this app has a history of these code-stealing shenanigans (read digg link above). Use this if you want, but be forewarned.
I won't touch this until he releases the source code. Call me paranoid, but I don't really trust an app developed by someone who blatantly steals code and violates licenses...

He may be using libtorrent, but I'll bet anyone he's using at least some Transmission code as well.

BitRocket and Transmission are both banned on user-only bittorrent websites anyway. Nobody's bothered to try and correct the announce interval issue.

Jolix said 2:23PM on 9-05-2006
BitRocket does not use one single line of transmission code. BitRocket is open source as of tonight, being hosted by google. Anyway, check out the code when it is up and all of the accusers can, well you know. ;)

who cares if he uses a open source to create the app, its a good app that works great for me

You know something, Jolix... No one would have accused you of anything had you stated what code you were using to begin with.

Just checked out Rev. 11. It does not build. You didn't include the Growl headers...

@mark
you are correct DO NOT USE THIS. This is the sort of easy licensing that means that power never gets put back into the community. Cut and Run!

@Jonathan Entwistle
Utter rubbish. This is the kind of licensing that is truly free.

Source code for BitRocket is available at bitrocket.org

Jolix,
Just wanted to get off the sidelines and lend my support. Opening up your code for inspection let alone brining it to OSSish is a grand gesture (and one that I am glad you made regardless). I just wanted to make sure you do know that you have supporters and to not be too discouraged by the attacks... they will go away.

This is from the guy who "made" Xfactor and publicly humiliated a user of his software on the now defunct forums because he was being a jerk. That instantly made me stop using his horrible program and tell other people about him.
