TUAW Poll: Which new product would you most likely buy?

Ok, folks, it's wild speculation time. The rumors are flying around Apple's upcoming press event. Let's take a detour into fantasy land for just a moment and pretend that all of the supposed goodies come to pass: The new 23 inch iMac, the video-streaming Airport Express and the nanos with iPod mini-like enclosures. Cost aside, which tickles your fancy the most? Would you snap up one of those nanos and say, "Scratches be damned!" I, for one, would pounce on that Airport Express. What's your choice? Vote in our poll and check back tomorrow for the results.

Which are you most likely to buy?
23" iMac
New nano
Video Airport
Enough with the rumors!

Whilst I think we will see a 23" iMac - I don't think it will be in the form of an iMac - I personally belive the iMac is going to be redesigned as the first "new" Intel Mac and renamed simply as "The Mac" More thoughts on this on http://www.alttabmac.com

To Paul Roberts:

Ars Technica has a good (well OK) article on why there aren't real media center PCs - they can't really function with the cable system because the cable companies are dragging their feet on the CableCARD card thing which allows third-party boxes to interface with the cable systems.

I would add in a uber-FrontRow application, that included DVR functions, as well as the moving streaming, plus anything else that could be rolled in (that makes sense). This will ofcourse require some new hardware that isn't even rumored yet, like a TV tuner, or direct connection to a cable/satellite tuner, and integration of a good online program guide.

Basically, Apple needs to look at all these half-baked media centers out there and do it right. They have the resources, and at this point, since none of them seem to be really working, I don't care if they squish the competition. What I would prefer, is that they build something along the lines of iPhoto platform wise, which would allow for plug-ins that would make FrontRow extensible (for example, MediaCentral has a questionable Skype plug-in, which doesn't work too well yet, and not everyone needs or wants it, but it would make a great plug-in option that people who do want it would pay for). This leaves the door open for third-party developers to do lots of cool things on top of uber-FrontRow, but would put them in charge of the core ap, with the really necessary functionality. Right now, FrontRow is sort of half-useful.

Just give me a new iPod with bigger capacity, TV-Out, Apple Remote and some kind of "front row" interface for the TV. I dont mind the bigger screen...

Am I asking THAT much!??

Let's hope for an iTMS video store, or an iPod with bigger capacity or bigger screen.

How come the iPhone didn't make the list? That's what I really want. That and for my crappy cell provider ACS to enable it on their CDMA system.

Hopefully it has a good implimentation of iCal and Address Book, so new events and contacts can be added easily during phone conversations. Perhaps it would just record the audio to be analized later on a faster computer.
