Fire retardant MacBook sleeves available
Ok, so they're hot. But are they THAT hot? Perhaps it's better to error on the side of caution. Wrappers has produced a set of fire retardant MacBook sleeves in a variety of colors. The corduroy sleeves can be customized with your own identifying mark, so you'll know exactly whose fireproof MacBook you're putting in your bag. You can pick one up for £15.99 (ID customization will cost you an additional £3.00).

I think I'll stick with my sleeve from MacCase.com for my MacBook, thank you very much. I don't know if the offer's still going on, but before they shipped my MacBook case they sent me and iBook one for free to use until I got the one made just for the MacBook. That worked fine and I was able to sell the iBook one when the MacBook one arrived.

#3: What kind of environment would this have to be?
If the house was on fire, and everything around the MacBook was engulfed in flames, then it would have to be a foolish person who would run into such a fireball to retrieve his/her MacBook.
Or is it for the occasional fire that might randomly begin as you're walking along the street?
I think the 'fire retardentness' is more of a gimmick than anything else. It doesn't seem to have a useful application as a notebook case.
Come on people...either I'm not getting your humour or you guys really think this is to be used whilst your Notebook is turned on. It's a protective sleeve, fire retardant to protect the machine from flames, not the other way round.
It looks as if it's just a variation on the iPod sock - high fashion for your macbook.
It looks like the sleeves alone could cause the MacBook to become ablaze if it's left on in one of those.
And what about the opening? A fire or spark could easily come out of there (or, for a scarier thought, in). So, how about a zipper or maybe our little friend named "velcro."
Right... but the laptop (sorry, 'Notebook') has to be closed in order to get it into the bag.
If it's closed, it's either OFF, or SLEEPING
Therefore... it's not going to run hot.
So the point is....?
