Red Snapper
The makers of Flapper also make Red Snapper, a slightly less whimsical piece of code. Red Snapper adds a button to Safari's address bar that allows you to save the contents of a webpage your Mac in a number of different formats (including PDF, JPG, and TIFF).This is a very neat little app for anyone that needs to save lots of webpages (I am sure someone out there needs to do that). Red Snapper costs $8.

I had little enthusiasm for this gadget, since I'm a long-time user of Paparazzi. But the PDF feature won me over. Somehow it saves Web pages with scalable vector text, which means they can be blow up like crazy for presentation purposes. I can't tell you how many times I've needed that feature.
(Images on the page, of course, remain craptacular when enlarged, but that's a compromise I'm more than happy to live with, seeing as how I can't really think of an alternative that doesn't involve reinventing the whole damn Web.)

Sorry, Tim. I did proofread it, but then I decided to change the wording of the first sentence and forgot to delete a work. Luckily, no one overreacted.
Oh, wait a second. ;)

Nope, I'm pretty sure that the whole "Print to PDF" thing is stansard issue w/ OSX. Which, by the way, has so saved my life on numerous events.

Print to PDF is nice and it works, but if you notice it doesn't really save the look of the page, opting for an easier to read version (i.e. black text on white background, etc). Some times you want to capture a whole webpage exactly how it looks, perhaps for a presentation as mentioned above.

As a previous poste rmentioned, Paparazzi does a pretty much the same thing. If you want to capture a large number of pages (e.g. an entire site) you could check out webkit2png:

Paparazzi is nice but if you have a website that depends on things like cookies or a password to be entered, it might not be so helpful.
The "Print To PDF" is good but you end up with a PDF that uses the print CSS style sheet (if one if defined) and page breaks. What Red Snapper does is make a PDF version of the webpage as it is displayed in Safari.

Anybody notice that the cookie and candy on the tastyapps website can be moved around? What's the point of that? The price 'stickers' move too, but just bounce back.

This really is a great little app. Things like this are what I absolutely love about OS X. There are so many apps like this I use often that are in the $40 and below range.
