Apple Camp schedule is now available
Apple's "Apple Camp" is a series of workshops at retail stores intended for younger kids - aged 8 to 12 years - and their families. The schedule for 2007 has been made available, and all sessions will take place in July. Topics to be covered include making a podcast, iWeb and iPhoto, working with digital music and making a movie. Apple describes just what "campers" should bring to class, as well as what they'll come away with. Sounds like a really fun time.

And after the day's activities are done, they sit around singing songs, telling ghost stories, and roasting marshmallows over AppleTV's.

Yeah, cute. But in all honesty... this is a great program. I brought my son to the Podcast camp last year, and he came home with a CD copy of the podcast he made, and a booklet on podcasting, and a little journal, and stick-on patches, and a t-shirt... all for the price of... free.
We're signed up for two more this year!

You know, I signed up for one of these last year, but when I went to the place, the guy in charge wouldn't let me in. I was 14 years old, and apparently you can't participate if you're over 12, even though it never said that on the website. I think that stinks.

It says right on the front page the camp is recommended for 8-12 year olds.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed with the Camp. My sons went to the iMovie camp yesterday and I was surprised that they didn't even touch a computer for the first hour. Even after that it seemed like the teachers were making it up as they went along.
