MacBook Airs shipping

The online Apple Store lists the MacBook Air as shipping in 2-3 weeks, however, if you ordered right after the keynote your MacBook Air might be on its way. We have received several excited emails sharing the news that MacBook Air orders seem to be shipping (one reader should have his on February 1st).
Does this lend any credence to the rumor that Apple Stores will have some MacBook Airs in stock shortly? Perhaps. Sound off in the comments if you ordered the MacBook Air right at the keynote, we want to know if it is shipping.

Does this mean we should see 10.5.2 when it hits the stores?

I'd bet so. Amazon lists Time Capsule as being dropped on 2.1, so I'd guess that's when 10.5.2 comes too... Or at least I hope so.

*sigh* The info on my Order Status page says the following:
Ships by: Feb 7
Delivers by: Feb 12
I did upgrade the processor though (not the HDD) so it's "custom configured". I also did wait a day or two to order so it makes sense. I can't wait to get this beautiful laptop in my possession.

Ordered a few hours after the introduction.
Got shipment email from Apple this morning.
FedEx says it's been picked up in China.

Sweet! I can't wait to see one in person at the local Apple Store... After having fought through the throngs of people that will undoubtedly be molesting it. I still don't think I'll give up my MBP though...
So does this mean that Apple TV firmware update should be out today too? Steve did say two weeks, non?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath.

UGH!! I ordered mine about 3 hours after the keynote. I'm still listed as Feb 6th. I paid for expedited shipping as well!

does that giant bezel have anything inside it or is it just "filler" design? seems like they could trim it off and the thing would be much smaller and lighter.

Considering that the MacBook Air is bigger than the MacBook (from the top), I'd say it was to get the unit so thin. I don't see why they couldn't have shoehorned a 14.0" LCD in there though, even if to forgo the camera.
Kawika said 3:17PM on 1-29-2008
That bezel is larger than you might like to provide the rigidity the screen needs to handle daily use. Without it opening or closing the screen would produce too much flex.
KR said 12:25PM on 1-29-2008
Maybe the larger bezel is for improved rigidity? Just a guess..

Dang. I have a CTO order made on Jan. 15, 2008 at 12:34 PM PST, not that long after I got back to the hotel after the keynote. I wanted the faster processor on the "standard" HDD AirBook. It's still showing "Ship By Feb. 6". Guess I should have gone with one of the standard models and I'd have it flying over the Pacific to me by now...

Sorry to nerd out here for a second, but Isn't the plural "MacBooks Air" and not "MacBook Airs"?
Like "Attorneys General."

Got my notice for the standard model this morning, expedited shipping, due Feb 1. Of interest, I've discovered dashboard's flight tracker widget has the schedule for Fedex planes leaving Shanghai for Anchorage. Not to sound too obsessive, but that's been a common stop-over for these things in the past, heh. Also of note, my apple retail store was doing major shelf rearranging today, most likely in preparation for the new hardware. :)

Haha. That's awesome Mike. I'm already loading Dashboard to check that out. :-)

I ordered just after the keynote as well, and this morning the notification went to "shipped." It's due to arrive (with second day air postage) by Friday. Sweet!
