CARS on hiatus, and a favorite CARS moment

The Mac web can be a pretty serious place, and that is why I was a little melancholy when I first heard that Crazy Apple Rumors would be going on hiatus for awhile. CARS, as those in the know call it, has been consistently funny for a good long time (feel free not to comment if you don't agree with me. Humor is a tricky thing, and it is highly personal) and the Internet will be a slightly less funny place without it.

Given the hiatus Brent Simmons, of NetNewsWire fame, suggested that a few folks link to their favorite CARS moment. I was all for it, because it would give me reason to link to the one and only time I appeared in CARS. The story was about the delay of Leopard (remember that?) and how it warped my tiny little brain. Still funny, if you ask me.

Here's hoping John Moltz, the man behind the site, will rest up quickly and be back to mocking Apple rumors in no time.

Scott, I remember that CARS article. I laughed out loud then and I did again just now. Great comedic writing. You're lucky you got to be a part of it! :-)

I remember once Steve Jobs fired someone who didn't work at Apple, just happened to be in the elevator with him at the time. I think I started reading when they did the thing where they switched with As the Apple turns. Perhaps this would be an appropriate time for an impassioned appeal for ATAT to return to the air.

... or think before insulting someone. It was obvious to me, and I'm sure others, that Scott meant, "the Internet will be a slightly less funny place without [CARS]".

Sure, the sentence could have been written to standards of the Plain English Campaign, for those who need it, but by their nature blogs are casual and conversational so people aren't expected to be too anal over their grammar and sentence structure. It's not a formal doc, or even a news paper column, after all.

Good site, Scott, I'd never heard of it and it's given me a good laugh already. Hope the fall from your 1st floor (ground floor for us Brits) window didn't hurt too much :)

The synchronized weblog posts were actually Mike Lee's idea. (Mike of lemurs and Library fame.) Mike's a smart guy. ;)
