Apple Store Baton Rouge: Your reports
Apple opened a new retail store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana -- the state's first -- on Thursday. As usual, we asked any TUAW operatives who may have attended to share their reports and/or pictures. Reader frelix was kind enough to share some photos he uploaded to his Flickr account. Thanks! If you visited this store, too, let us know in the comments. If you haven't, when you do get there, show us a little love and set the in-store machines to TUAW for their Safari homepage! Just don't say we told you to.

Don't count on photographs - once that crispy fried Nutria hit the tables, all bets were off.

Hahaha!!!! That's me in the red shirt in IMG_0766. Cool.
I skipped thermodynamics lecture to go to the opening, took a few photos with my iPhone; I don't really have time to upload them, but if you really want them I'll see what I can do.

While I don't live in Baton Rouge, I do live in Brandon, FL and saw this weekend that they are building a new Apple Store in our mall. The closest is in Tampa about 30 miles away.
Do any of you know how to find out when stores that are under construction are supposed to open?

Also, I spoke with an Apple employee that said all machines reset to factory default when the store closes, but feel free to set the homepage for the day.
Overall, quite amazing. Can't wait to visit again.

Its about time. I've been waiting for an Apple store a little closer to New Orleans for so long! I took off work and drove my zealot self up there for the opening. Very nice store. Now if only I could transplant it to NOLA...

I was 25th in line out of about 400. I told the folks at work that I was taking a day off for a religious holiday. They saw me at the Apple store last night on the news.
Hey! To Mac freaks like me, this was a high holy day. I'll post my pictures later today.

The opening was incredible fun. All the employees were excited and made me fee like a rock star! Mardi Gras all over again except nobody was throwing iPhones like beads. I was the 6th person to enter the store and it was a great time. Checkout without a central "cash register" location worked flawlessly, and who WOULDN'T want their receipt e-mailed to them? Fantastic experience!
