Interesting. I would call myself a hardcore MacUser but I have none of the above apps. Not a single one!

"Another blog did the work - I don't agree but am not posting what I think. What do you think?"
This is just lazy.
The revamped version of Notational Velocity has been the most important 2009's app release for me.

VLC Player is must have to play non-Apple videos.
Handbrake is the DVD ripping and file conversion program of choice.
How these two programs are not on every "best" freeware list completely boggles my mind.
A small summary of what each one does would be quite helpful as well as the list of URIs.

December 16 2009 at 11:52 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAgreed - guys, I love this site, so I saw that link, checked Magnifique out, downloaded, bam. It's not your responsibility (rather, the Dev of Magnifique, dude, put a warning on the download page!) but nevertheless other TUAW readers will do what I've just done, so a warning in this post would be a good idea.
Links to software that will hose your system = baaad *cries*
Magnifique isn't snow leopard compatible
iPhoto > Picasa
Pollux is down and may or may not be released again
Kind of important things considering the list don't ya think?
Chrome has been available for months though, even if not in an official release.
December 16 2009 at 6:22 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyLifehacker's suggeestion that Safari is not worth using without adding extra doo-dads is just plain ignorant. And how does Google Chrome end up on the list of most popular apps of the year when it's only been out for a week?
