TUAW's Daily App: Instagram
There is a plethora of various photo apps around, both for taking pictures and for sharing them on social networks. But Instagram is an excellent solution for both, and it's elegant enough to make you reconsider your current workflow. Personally, I've just been taking pictures with the standard camera app and uploading them with the official Twitter app. But Instagram adds the ability to make your photos artistic with a wide number of filters, add location and social network data to them in the app itself, then share them with any number of social networks, from simple stuff like Twitter and Facebook to more complicated connections like Flickr and even Tumblr.
The app is completely free, too, and they're planning to keep it that way. There may be add-ons for filters in the future (or, I presume, some advertising on the actual Web pages created by the pictures), but how awesome that a great app and service like this appreciates the value of free.
Like I said, you probably already have a workflow for taking and sharing pictures from your iPhone, but Instagram is good enough to make you give it a shot anyway. It's a free download and is available on the App Store right now.

I'm having problems with Instagram saving photos in my Camera Roll. I have an iPhone 4. Anyone else having this problem?
November 03 2010 at 4:47 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyInstagram has totally entranced me. Members are located throughout the world, so it's a great way to follow and get a sense of the common lives of people living in distant places. With that comes feedback and idea sharing. The result is a really intense workshop on photographic composition. I would even suggest it's decently kid friendly--while some writers may cuss a bit in comments, the community maintains a strict no-porn ethic and personal identities are protected. BTW--my membership ID is also the same as my TUAW community ID, ViennaBelle Like the other commenters, I welcome other readers to friend me back.

Part of this is because you look at the pics under the popular button and it lets you see how much more work your pics need. I love the filters and to answer @eatmytag I just send the emails from camera roll to posterous.
Look me up and of course I'm docrock in instagr.am too.

It's a great app :D it's Twitter for iPhone pictures :p
add me dborup
E-mail sharing as an option would be great to have though - for posterous e.g.
Btw, you can tell the app to save the original by using its settings in Settings.app
Would love to sign up but every email address I use (even .me) says a user with that username already exists.
