Apple has released the second developer beta of iOS 27. The update brings several improvements to the Home app, Apple Wallet, Messages, and other system features.
The release arrives two weeks after iOS 27 debuted at WWDC 2026. Unlike the first beta, this update focuses on usability and refinement.
The first beta drew attention for its AI-powered Siri upgrades. In contrast, beta 2 focuses on everyday convenience. As a result, developers can now test several improvements designed to make Apple’s ecosystem work more smoothly.
Home App Now Updates Apple TV Devices
One of the most notable additions appears in the Apple Home app. Users can now update a connected Apple TV directly from the Home app.
Previously, users needed to access update settings through the Apple TV itself. Now, they can manage updates in the same way they update HomePod and HomePod mini devices.
To install an update, users simply open the Updates section and select their Apple TV. This change makes device management easier for households with multiple Apple products.
Wallet Insights Introduces Financial Tracking
Apple has also unveiled a new feature called Wallet Insights. The tool aims to help users monitor their finances from within the Wallet app.
According to Apple, users will be able to connect financial accounts. They will then see spending trends, recurring transactions, balances, and other financial information.
Apple says privacy remains a priority. The company explains that account data is processed through an Apple-owned subsidiary. The service retrieves and standardizes financial information while protecting user privacy.
However, the feature is not yet active. Apple may enable it in a future beta release or with the final version of iOS 27.
Smaller Changes Improve the Experience
Apple also included several smaller enhancements. The company refined the Type to Siri interface and adjusted transparency effects throughout the system.
In addition, users now have a dedicated “Write with Siri” option on the keyboard. Media controls on the Lock Screen also remain visible during active playback.
The Messages app received improvements as well. Users can now reply directly to specific RCS messages. Furthermore, image reactions sent through RCS chats are visible on Android devices. These updates improve communication between iPhone and Android users.
A Step Toward the Final Release
iOS 27 beta 2 does not introduce many headline features. Instead, it focuses on polish and stability.
The update improves convenience and ecosystem integration. It also refines features introduced earlier in development.
