Apple could bring advanced vapor chamber cooling to future iPhones, according to a new report. Industry sources claim the company has increased orders for vapor chamber cooling plates. The report suggests Apple plans to use the technology in its first foldable iPhone, often called the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold. It may also appear in Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone.
Although Apple has not confirmed these plans, the report has renewed interest in the company’s next-generation smartphone lineup.

Foldable iPhone Could Benefit Most
The report says suppliers have started mass production of the new cooling components. However, it does not identify the manufacturers or reveal production volumes. Even so, the leak suggests the foldable iPhone will receive the technology first.
A vapor chamber cooling system helps move heat away from the processor. As a result, the phone can maintain strong performance during demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, and AI processing. The technology may also help support thinner smartphone designs without causing overheating.
Apple Already Uses Similar Technology
Apple introduced vapor chamber cooling in the iPhone 17 Pro. The system uses water inside a sealed heat exchanger to transfer heat away from the A19 Pro chip. It then spreads the heat across the phone’s chassis for more efficient cooling.
Because the rumored iPhone Ultra is expected to feature a slim design, the same cooling solution could become even more valuable. Reports also suggest Apple’s anniversary iPhone, expected in 2027, may feature a new industrial design with an almost bezel-free appearance. Consequently, better thermal management could play an important role in both devices.
Rumor Still Awaits Confirmation
The latest claim comes from the Weibo account Fixed Focus Digital. The leaker previously predicted the iPhone 16e name correctly. However, the same source also incorrectly claimed the iPhone 17 would include a 120Hz display. Therefore, the report should be treated with caution.
Apple has not commented on the report or announced its future cooling plans. Still, if these rumors prove accurate, advanced vapor chamber cooling could become a key feature of Apple’s next wave of premium iPhones.
