Apple may finally be preparing to refresh the Apple TV after a four-year hardware gap. The next-generation model could arrive this fall, with Siri AI expected to become its main selling point.
According to the report, Apple held back several home products while it worked through delays involving Apple Intelligence and its upgraded Siri. Those products reportedly include a new Apple TV, the long-rumored Home Hub tablet and other smart home devices.
Siri AI Could Unlock Apple’s Hardware Plans
The report cites Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, which says the arrival of Siri AI with iOS 27 could clear the way for delayed hardware launches. Specifically, the updated Apple TV is expected sometime this fall.
Apple last refreshed its set-top box in 2022. That model runs the A15 processor, which remains capable but now trails Apple’s newer silicon.
However, rumors suggest Apple could make a substantial performance jump this time.
A19 Chip Could Boost AI and Gaming
The next Apple TV may feature either an A19 or A19 Pro processor. Although Apple already has the newer A20 generation, an A19-series chip should provide ample performance for a streaming device.
Moreover, the device could offer up to 12GB of RAM. That extra memory would support local AI processing while also improving gaming performance. The A19 family’s graphics capabilities could make the Apple TV a more capable gaming platform.
Still, artificial intelligence appears to be the bigger focus. Siri AI could offer more advanced assistance directly through the television. In addition, the device may locally analyze recordings from HomeKit Secure Video cameras.
Launch Could Come by November
Apple could introduce several home products at a dedicated event later in 2026. However, the company could instead announce them through press releases and short product videos.
The report expects the upgraded Apple TV no later than November. It also suggests current $199 and $249 pricing could remain, while a new Siri Remote may accompany the hardware.
For now, Apple has not officially announced the device. Therefore, its processor, memory, pricing and release timing should remain treated as reported expectations rather than confirmed specifications.
