Apple’s iOS 27 includes an unusual interface bug that can temporarily disrupt parts of an iPhone. However, most users are unlikely to encounter the problem during normal use.
The issue appears when someone rapidly switches between Notification Center and Control Center. In some cases, the repeated action can make parts of the interface stop responding correctly.

Notification Center Bug Requires Unusual Actions
Triggering the glitch requires users to open Notification Center and immediately activate Control Center. Moreover, they may need to repeat the process quickly.
Therefore, everyday actions are unlikely to cause the problem. The report notes that users would normally perform this sequence only when testing animations or deliberately stressing the interface.
Still, some social media users have described more serious symptoms. Reports claim that scrolling can stop working, notifications may become inaccessible, and swiping between Home Screen pages can fail.
However, testing cited in the report produced a less severe result. The test prevented Notification Center from opening but did not make the entire iPhone unresponsive.
Issue Apparently Survived iOS 27 Beta Testing
The glitch does not appear to have started with the public version of iOS 27. According to the report, users had already spotted it during the beta-testing period.
A Reddit post indicated that the problem affected iOS 27 beta builds, including the Release Candidate. Consequently, the same behavior appears to have reached the final public release.
That persistence is notable because Apple had several testing stages before releasing iOS 27.
Force Restart Offers a Simple Fix
Fortunately, users who encounter the glitch can restore normal operation with a force restart. First, press and release Volume Up. Next, press and release Volume Down. Finally, hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
The iPhone should then restart with Notification Center and Home Screen controls working normally. However, the bug could return if users trigger the same sequence again.
