Update: Our sister (or is it brother?) site Engadget points to a Flickr set chock full of nifty pictures like this one.
Use Spotlight as a reference tool. Type any word in the Spotlight box and one of the top entries will be a definition. Click on it, and it will bring up the dictionary application to check the word in either the dictionary, thesaurus, Apple database, or Wikipedia.

Love it love it love it. Best desktop pic I've ever seen? Uhm, no. Works for a snapshot, effect totally lost in the real universe unless the viewer is perfectly aligned just so, and in one location only.
However, it'd be hip to have one on file for every spot one does biz--home, the office, Starschmucks, etc.
