TUAW photo of the day

I know Apple has paid for placements before, but I am going to go out on a limb and say they did not pay Laura Bush $15,000 to stand behind a Powerbook for this photo op :)
[Thanks, Chris!]

If they won't buy time on Rush Limbaugh (a stark raving Apple nut) they sure as heck won't pay the Bush administration a dime for placement. Just ask one of their board of directors... none other than Al Gore.

My wife works at Shakespeare Festival/LA and organized this event. I can guaranty that Apple didn't give anyone any money for this shot (though SFLA would sure appreciate a donation). I noticed the PowerBook on the sound table when I helped them set up, and as always it made me smile, but I never expected it to get this much press. Macs are just so photogenic!

I'm the program director and I never saw any money exchange hands. But after that great free press, do you think that someone at Apple might have a Powerbook to spare? That one belongs to our music mentor, not us. We are
