Here's a bit I missed: Tiger's Safari has a new feature called "private browsing." Simply launch Safari, then click
Safari-> Private Browsing, and you will be met with the following dialog:

Supposedly, it's for
security when browsing in public areas.
My take: Browsing without any history or tracks of your browsing? Porn mode.
Good thing Tiger also has parental controls, otherwise, I could see this being abused by every hormonal teenager on the planet.
Update 2007: Welcome diggrs. Check out our
current coverage of
Safari and the announcements from Apple's
WWDC07.

I was going to say, it is a nifty tool for adults. The kids had this one licked a long time ago. We're just too slow to notice.

Ah, Dan, you're right! Today was the first time I ever launched that dialog box myself tho, so it struck me as if it were new. ;-)
Plus, I don't think I thought of the whole insidious-Porn-mode idea until today when I saw the dialog, and that shocking realization pushed all prior knowledge of this feature straight out of my brain.

Yeah, Josh... you did the work... but who do you think hit command-shift-4 and drew a box? Who sacrificed his Safari to the experiment? Who risked his life to deliver the screenshot to you? Hmmmm? ME!
lol ;-}

I have a Tiger Bit:
When in either the SpotLight window or the Finder Spotlight View, Option-Clicking any info button (on the right side) will open all of the info buttons for all items on the list.

CK, you didn't miss this; you just forgot it ;-) Last week you linked to Macworld's Tiger coverage, which talked about Private Browsing. I think you've reached Tiger information saturation ;-)

Relevant para:
Your browsing history, cookies, and cache files can contain information about where you’ve been, and even the content of those sites. Safari’s new Private Browsing feature, announced by Apple last year, disables these features while browsing—great for browsing on a public computer or even for the extra-cautious at home. (However, note that Private Browsing isn’t retroactive. If you’ve visited a site prior to enabling Private Browsing, remnants of that visit—cache files, cookies, and possibly even auto-fill values such as your name and password—may still be sitting around. So to fully benefit from Private Browsing, you’ll likely want to make sure that you don’t already have cookies and auto-fill data for “private” sites.)

Well, these so-called "hormonal teenagers" are probably the offspring of PC users, and hence need porn because they can't get chicks (PCs suck, and teenage girls know this, which is why you always see iMacs in the bedrooms of teenage girls on TV). The children of Mac users will have no problems getting chicks, and hence do not need private browsing.
Wait, who am I kidding... THANK YOU, STEVIE J!
