Videos in iTMS
Scott mentioned this yesterday,
while discussing the release of iTunes 4.8, but I thought I'd highlight
it a bit, because I actually took the time to play with it and I think
it is really cool. I just bought the new Gorillaz' Feel Good INC single on the iTMS for $0.99, and along with the single music file came 4 animated videos. It looks like iTunes may just become my new video collection database and organizer (you can also drag pdf files in there if you want), because I really like the new interface. You can see in the pic above a screen grab from the video Game of Death playing in small where the album artwork is normally displayed. If you simply play the song, it comes up full screen (and honestly, looks a little fuzzy). If you exit out of full screen (by hitting the Escape key) the video starts playing in small like the picture above. If you click on that playing video, it opens up at normal size. See after the jump for an example of this window.

Very cool. Click again to go full screen again. I like it!

They are the perfect size for the PSP screen and look great. I really love this site and this is my first post, so keep up the good work. But what is up with the Microsucks advertising????

May 10 2005 at 11:50 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyA lot of people think that downloadable movies are the next logical step for Apple--but I think that iTunes 4.8 is the beginning of the iTunes music video store--a buck or so for the latest music video from U2, 50 Cent, or whatever. Bring it on.

May 10 2005 at 6:56 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHA! I had just sent you guys an email on this. So I will refresh it here. Apparently you can create a playlist and drag and drop videos/movies of type ".mov" and ".mp4" and watch them within that little window. The sucky thing comes when you try and watch your newly imported video full screen. The quality of the imported video at full screen depends completely on how it was compressed to begin with. Needless to say, the videos that I added to my "video" playlist in iTunes, for my PSP and P910 phone are a little grainy full screen, but look fine for smaller, mobile devices. Just thought I would pass this along. If "iGetMovies" gets fixed then all of the movie trailers and videos will be DRM'd free :P
