Nice....a VAST improvement in performance...prior to 10.4.2, I was having severe issues with iPhoto, Widgets, Spotlight and general Finder issues; this update seems to have addressed them all

Why can't this be fixed? esato.com and several other forums, even the own apple discussion board is full of posts from people with the same issue :(

July 12 2005 at 10:29 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe update fixed alot of problems I was having with Mail and .Mac. Mail seems to be working alot better. Other than a few network problems (probably hardware), things have been working fine.
July 12 2005 at 9:30 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHey all, just did the 10.4.2 update to see the new widget manager. Not to bad, kind of a pain to scoll all the way through them all, six pages worth. I noticed a few things though. I knew that you could pull up the widget library by pressing command + before, but did holding option over the widget always bring up the close button? I was playing around and just discovered it. Is this new to .2? Thanks.

With 10.4.2, OS X still cannot access file servers that require secure packet signing (typically Windows 2003 servers with default security settings). Administrators at my company (understandably) will not disable the requirement to use packet signing to access the server. To the user, OS X says "Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct." However, Console.app has this to say about it: Jul 12 20:00:42 Prefect kernel[0]: smb_smb_negotiate: server configuration requires packet signing, which we dont support
