Nice....a VAST improvement in performance...prior to 10.4.2, I was having severe issues with iPhoto, Widgets, Spotlight and general Finder issues; this update seems to have addressed them all

I see this update has corrected the bug that stopped some web site favicons displaying in Safari and Camino: http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/pinkerton/archives/008047.html Nice to have them back.

Unplugging the Sony Ericsson k750i from the usb port still makes tiger go all kernel failure, REBOOOOOT on me. Why can't this be fixed? esato.com and several other forums, even the own apple discussion board is full of posts from people with the same issue :(

I've been going from 10.3(.0) to 10.4.2 now with no problems on my machine.

What? No fix for the recently broken iPod software? Apple: Give us our smart playlists back before spending another programmer minute on more marginally useful widgetry!

Matt!

The update fixed alot of problems I was having with Mail and .Mac. Mail seems to be working alot better. Other than a few network problems (probably hardware), things have been working fine.

Hey all, just did the 10.4.2 update to see the new widget manager. Not to bad, kind of a pain to scoll all the way through them all, six pages worth. I noticed a few things though. I knew that you could pull up the widget library by pressing command + before, but did holding option over the widget always bring up the close button? I was playing around and just discovered it. Is this new to .2? Thanks.

Hell. With 10.4.2, OS X still cannot access file servers that require secure packet signing (typically Windows 2003 servers with default security settings). Administrators at my company (understandably) will not disable the requirement to use packet signing to access the server. To the user, OS X says "Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct." However, Console.app has this to say about it: Jul 12 20:00:42 Prefect kernel[0]: smb_smb_negotiate: server configuration requires packet signing, which we dont support
