T-Shirt bears quote from Jobs' Stanford Speech

tshirtSteve Jobs gave the graduation commencement address at Stanford University earlier this summer [video here]. He ended his remarks with this simple bit of advice for the graduates: "Stay hungry, stay foolish." When the CEO of such major corporations as Apple and Pixar offers some free advice, people are apt to take it. Or at least, print it on a T-shirt. Frosty Place has done the latter. I can't find any retail information (anyone want to translate the page for us?), but this could make a good gift for the Apple addict in your family.

Thanks, BC!

The quote "stay hungry, stay foolish" was on the back cover of the book "Whole Earth Epilog" published in 1974.

This is from the folks at Frosty Place: The shirt is made of 100% preshrunk cotton. If enough people are interested, we can import and to sell them here in the US. Each is about $19 USD (USPS shipping included.) If interested please contact us at editors [at] frostyplace.com

I still count Think Different as one of my 3 rules for living, along with "let there be light" and the Golden Rule.

Steve gives credit to The Whole Earth Catalog for the quote in his speech at Stanford.

Did I just say you need to stay foolish to be a Mac user? Ben just proved it in a long and winding way. Good job.

FrostyPlace is a Chinese web site, that is why Google translation doesn't work if you force it to do a Japanese to English translation. I am working on a simple translation and I will post them here later.

3: The foreign language in that page is Traditional Chinese, not Japanese.

That quote goes back to the early 70s at least, when it adorned the back cover of the Whole Earth Catalog that stylishly topped off my telephone-wire-spool table. I always thought it came from Stewart Brand.

when I first read the headline, the first thing I pictured was one of the teddy bears from "build-a-bear" wearing a little t-shirt with a quote from his speach. I've been at work too long, time to go home now.
