Steve Jobs gave the graduation commencement address at Stanford University earlier this summer [video here]. He ended his remarks with this simple bit of advice for the graduates: "Stay hungry, stay foolish." When the CEO of such major corporations as Apple and Pixar offers some free advice, people are apt to take it. Or at least, print it on a T-shirt. Frosty Place has done the latter. I can't find any retail information (anyone want to translate the page for us?), but this could make a good gift for the Apple addict in your family. Thanks, BC!

But it wasn't his quote? So if I start quoting Wilde, does that mean I can print up shirts and say they're quotes by me?

Stay hungry is easy for most Americans. Stay foolish is a requirement for being Mac users.

It's not too difficult to decipher at first, since URLs are in English. So the left button at the bottom links to the order login page. The first link below that allows you to register an account. Then, you agree to the license agreement. After that, it's worth using Google to translate the registration page:

Google's translation for Japanese is still in beta, though, and I'm having trouble understanding stuff on the page. Altavista's Babelfish isn't much better, but I ended up doing my best and returning to the original Japanese page to enter the info.
Not sure if I've succeeded, though. An English order system would be nice.

when I first read the headline, the first thing I pictured was one of the teddy bears from "build-a-bear" wearing a little t-shirt with a quote from his speach. I've been at work too long, time to go home now.

3: The foreign language in that page is Traditional Chinese, not Japanese.

FrostyPlace is a Chinese web site, that is why Google translation doesn't work if you force it to do a Japanese to English translation. I am working on a simple translation and I will post them here later.

Did I just say you need to stay foolish to be a Mac user? Ben just proved it in a long and winding way. Good job.

That quote goes back to the early 70s at least, when it adorned the back cover of the Whole Earth Catalog that stylishly topped off my telephone-wire-spool table. I always thought it came from Stewart Brand.

Steve gives credit to The Whole Earth Catalog for the quote in his speech at Stanford.

The quote "stay hungry, stay foolish" was on the back cover of the book "Whole Earth Epilog" published in 1974.
