Today's most stunning revelation
The new iPod is cool, the new iMac is sweet, FrontRow, the Apple Remote, PhotoBooth, iTunes 6 and that snazzy media browsing interface are all very exciting. But as far as I know, no other Mac site has even mentioned the most startling, jaw-dropping revelation from Apple's press event of earlier this afternoon. We all saw it with our own eyes, yet we were so stunned it didn't even register. Look at the picture to the right. Steve is not wearing blue jeans! Those are pants, for the love of Pete...and they're brown! And what are those...shoes?!? No sneakers? What's going on in Cupertino? This is mass hysteria, people. Dogs and cats living together. I've been rendered speechless. I am without speech.
Next he'll have a grey button down shirt on. I don't know if I can take it.

All his jeans were dirty, and he couldn't find his New Balance shoes, all 80 pair were missing...

This is not the first event that His Steveness has left the denim behind for some spiffier slacks, I believe the WWDC keynote where he unveiled the move to intel was also a dress up occasion. I thought the same thing then... he looks more natural in jeans.

Ahh, Wired has made mention (although brief):

See paragraph 9.

seriously, though. you'd think that someone at Apple would have told the ol' Steverino: guys shouldn't wear brown pants with a black shirt. Just looks dumb, and dosen't go. tsk tsk tsk.

I thought something was off this morning after seeing Jobs. Like the air was stiffer. Something.

This was the first thing my girlfriend noticed when I started to watch the keynote. She said Steve was not keeping it real. I wonder what is going on, should we be worried.

this aint the first presentation he's worn non-jean pants. look into your archive of presentations and you'll see it.
i can't believe no one has blogged about this until now.
he also referred to the ipod as an imac.
did you catch that? i thought that was an awkward moment!

I suspect it was a protest by Steve as he was *forced* to announce a video iPod, something he said he would never do...
It's a protest along the lines, they made me do it...

He is turning gothic! First the blue jeans and sneakers, then dark jeans and sneakers, and now full black. Gothic, I tell you, gothic. Next comes the black hair.

He had to wear something more SOFT than denim in case he had to put a black iPod into his pocket and then show it to everyone.
***Seriously TUAW bloggers, awesome coverage today. You all definitely covered everything well and quite thoroughly. Rock on!

Perhaps this is Steve's silent protest to the GAP since their website doesn't 9or didn't) work with Safari...

I noticed all of those things his pants, the hard drive typo, and how he referred to the iPod as an iMac. I figured he would have corrected himself on them, but no, he didn't.
