iTunes Music Store is live in Australia
That's right, Aussies, the wait is finally over. Pigs are flying, hell is frozen and the iTunes Music Store is available in Australia. We thought the rumor was too good to be true when we first heard the rumblings surrounding this week's Australian Media Briefing, which was attended by the
worldwide head of the iTunes Music Store as well as the head of iPod
Marketing. Looks like they flew down for more than a vacation after all.To our Australian friends: We're glad your wait is over (just don't be too boastful around your neighbors from New Zealand, OK?).
Thanks, Jason!

Dear Apple,
Please, PLEASE, don't forget we exist, too.

Arrrgh, no New Zealand store? I even tried tricking it into thinking NZ was a state of Australia -- no luck!
:(
Hurry up Apple!

I can confirm the store is live and working here in Sunny Sydney.
Was a little confused at first - the country drop-down had defaulted to Austria and I was wondering why everything was in German...
No Tv downloads unfortunately (so no new episoded of "Lost" for us), although the music videos and Pixar stuff is there. The store seems a little "light" for downloadable content.
Oh yes - $1.69aus for a song, $3.39aud for a music video - ouch that's a nasty conversion rate...

Hurrah! Yep, it's here, working and looking good. Finally, 10 months after buying an ipod I can use itunes to buy some music. It has been commented that it's pricy, but it's still a bit cheaper (and a lot more convenient) than going out and buying the CD.

I have a good write up on my site about the subject, with a few interesting points.
