Apple as a Jeopardy category
Oh, the one night I don't watch Jeopardy, Apple was featured as a full-fledged category! According to the Deep Thought
forums, the episode that aired on December 13, 2005 offered a category called "The Apple of my eye" to
contestants, featuring the following answers and questions:- An Asian feline that shares a name with the latest Mac OS X version: What is Tiger?
- The type of computers the iBook and PowerBook are: What are laptops?
- This man has a salary of $1: Who is Steve Jobs?
- This product shares its name with a place where aircraft take flight: What is Airport?
- A “speedy” product that works on the Mac or PC: What is QuickTime?

I saw it. The question to the third answer, 'This man has a salary of $1', was originally offered as 'Who is Jobes', but the contestant was corrected by Alex and awarded the money. Overall, it was neat, and Alex had some notes on all of the answers - he could be a fan!

I'll have to grab this online somewhere.
(And of course you can always make your own jeopardy with all Apple topics.

Technically Apple does not classify the iBook and PowerBook as "laptops" but as "notebooks" or "portables". You will rarely find the word "laptop" used in Apple marketing materials.
Alex is an Apple fan. I've heard somewhere that he's owned several PowerBooks.

"So, did anyone see it? I'll take "Episodes of Jeopardy I wish I didn't miss for $500," Alex."
Too bad $500 isn't an actualy Jeopardy amount any longer - they doubled all dollar values a few years back :)

Clearly, now, we should have Jeopardy available on the iTMS...

Well, we know that Apple didn't have any influence over this category because, if they did, every answer - err, sorry, question - would be "Who is Steve Jobs?"
Well, maybe they'd throw in a "Who is Jonathan Ive?" as a daily double, just to throw everyone off. =)

These seem to be pretty elementary questions for Jeopardy.... I'm a little disappointed. If you're going to do an Apple category, kick it up a notch...
This co-creator of the Apple computer has been virtually forgotten by the mainstream media...
This former Pepsi exec damn near killed the company....
The appeal of this early Apple PDA seemed particularly vulnerable to the physical force its namesake is credited with discovering...
This company has traditionally waited for Apple to dramatically improve their operating systems, then proceeded to integrate cheap knockoffs of these innovations in their own OS....
This company's legal department will likely sue Viacomm for using its name in a Jeopardy category....

I heard it as I was stuffing my face in the kitchen, from the kitchen TV. So, no, I didn't see it.

I've got it DVRed at home... if everyone would like a chance to see it, I will capture it and try to post it somewhere handy.
