Win a Red Hot Chili Peppers iPod from iTunes

You may remember the Red Hot Chili Peppers as being among those who were quite opposed to the sale of downloadable music. A couple of weeks ago, I was surprised to see some of their music in the iTunes Music Store. This week, the surprises continue: Not only has some exclusive Peppers music been added, but there's an exclusive Ticketmaster pre-sale going on, an album pre-order, an exclusive video and booklet and a contest giving away the band's entire catalog plus a limited edition Chili Peppers iPod [iTunes link]. Whew. If you're a Chili Peppers fan, check this one out.

There's 2 of them on ebay now. They're not red as previously mentioned, they're black. I won one from my local radio station and am waiting to receive it now. One of the ebay posts mentions that they are not going to be sold in stores or online they are for the promo of the new album only. I haven't been able to confirm that yet though.

What a surprise, it's not for the UK. I find that most annoying.

Pre-ordered as soon as I saw this today (2 hours ago). :D Been listening to "Dani California" ever since... (yeah, I'm a fan). I'm probably gonna end up buying the CD anyway, depends on what it has to offer if there's no extras I'll stick with my iTunes pre-order only.

In any case, Red Hot Chili Peppers sure as hell entered the iTunes market with some innovation but, I can't say I'm surprised. Considering they refused digital sales for so long, there had to be reason "beyond money" to do this.

taking from official rules "may be eligible to win one (1) 60 GB iPod with the Bands signatures and logo engraved on the back" just sounds like a normal ipod with an engraving on :(
