Rig of the Day: Many Macs

Check out this well-appointed desk. Flickr user dsiercks shows off a pair of Powerbooks, two iMacs (one with iSight, one without), one Powermac G5 (with an iSight of its own) and twin displays. We'd say you can get some work done with that set up.
"workstation" posted by dsiercks.
If you'd like to see your own rig featured here, simply upload photos into our group Flickr pool. We'll select an image every day to highlight.

One of those Powerbooks is a MacBook Pro.

Grammatically, shouldn't that read "Mac Many?"

Why do you guys feature rigs? I love TUAW, but the rigs are boring as $#@%. Maybe if you did a feature once a month or every couple of weeks that would be interesting.
Judging by the number of comments I'm not the only person who just skips the rigs of the day when reading TUAW.
Today's setup is actually drool-worthy, but I can just go to the Apple Store and drool just as much, ya know?

I believe the right most 'book is actually a Mac Book Pro, as it appears to have an iSight built-in.
Either way, pretty sweet.

Wow. Either I haven't been away from my computer desk for many a year, or that desk with the G5 popping out is pretty cool. I keep my G5 under my desk, behind a door. I sometimes forget about and hear the SMACK! of the CD drive against the door. I wonder if that damages anything.

Nice desk. Love that set-up, with the G5 tower's disc tray access.

Ditto on the MBP on the right.
I would get seriously distracted multitasking with so many systems ;)

I don't know what #2 is talking about. Looking at other people's rigs has to be one of my fav. parts of being a Mac fan. It's always cool to see what other people do with their Mac stuff.

3rd for an MBP! :-)
You can tell because it has the large light strip between the keyboard and the screen - that is the APX antenna

Someone needs to introduce this guy to Synergy...
I do like how the G5 has its disk drive exposed below the twin monitors though.

What is this guys job and where do I sign up? What on earth requires so many computers for one man. But wow, great set up...

I used to have that same desk and I loved it! Too bad I'm in college, and space is a lot more precious in my 1 bedroom apartment than it was when I lived with my parents.

That's a lot of porn right there... But it looks like he could use a KVM or two.

Get some work done? Really? I was thinking more along the lines of "whoah, you could really blow some time with a rig like that."
Furthermore, don't we all just skip the posts that don't interest us? Hell, I skip entire weeks of reads. Because I have just 3 macs, and yes, I blow a lot of time.
Etc.

That really looks a lot like the set up from my school's Computer Services Dept. at WIU. That would be really cool.

I love the rig of the day section. I check everyday just to see it.
