I unloaded my 15.4 MBP in favor of the feature loaded 17" MBP. I have been lucky in that both were defect free. The screen is amazing and this thing is fast!
I already purchased a bunch of accessories: Logitech V270 BT mouse, Shaggymac screen protector (perfect fit), and Prime pac cleaning kit.

daft question perhaps, but does anyone have the box dimensions? I'm flying to london on saturday teh 20th with the sole purpose of going to the apple store and purchasing a 17" macbookpro - but i want to check the box fits in ryanair's hand luggage dimensions, i have a feeling if i check it in it'll go walkabout...

So just for clarification... how far back can you tilt it without the screen pulling?

Matthew: The screen is NOT the shiny kind you see on a lot of laptops now. The HP Widescreens are the most recent ones I have seen with that screen.
Tim: I know exactly what you're talking about and that isn't as big of a problem on the new MacBook. It seems as though the screen is a bit lighter. That being said, it might be better hinges.. I am not sure. I does feel less screen heavy to me.
Congrats,
@ Bob S. I personally love to see pics and especially videos of persons opening the box of their new Apple Hardware.
Matthew,
It seems as though the screen is the "shiny" kind as opposed to the not shiny kind that have been on Powerbooks since the beginning. Forgive my lack of technical terminology, I'm just wondering if it is indeed the shiny type of screen?
Hey. I have a current 17" and my biggest complaint is the loose screen (they say it's due to the weight of the screen). Is your macbook 17" any better? and if you have no frame of reference how far can you tilt your laptop backwards without the screen moving backwards on it's own.
