Fixit disassembles a MacBook
I am really digging my MacBook, so you know I won't be ripping it apart any time soon (though I will be installing a couple of gigs of RAM soon). The folks at Fixit have no such reservations about ripping apart their MacBook and they even took pictures. This is your typical 'rip apart the new Apple product,' though, this is a guide that shows you how to accomplish some tasks.

EricBunny-
I'd say no. From the pictures, it doesn't appear that the cpu is socketed. You'd have to do quite a bit of (un)soldiering to get the job done. Bummer =(
Question time: is the CPU / GPU replaceble?

Did any one notice that the MacBook had the correct amount of thermal paste applied?

Man, the inner design is really cool. If you take out the superdrive you could get a really *really* small laptop.
Any bets on a "Macbook mini" next year?
I actually read through the other day. Am I right in thinking the 17" is exactly the same ?.
We're actually iFixit :-)
The site is up and running great. We've been getting a lot of positive feedback on this Guide. The MacBook was really a joy to take apart. People are going to be hanging onto these machines for a long time. I expect to see a big bump in SATA drive sales, too.
Seems they are having some problems with their site. I'm getting a mysql error when I hit the link. Darn, I like seeing nekkid 'puters.
