Found Footage: OS switching on a MacBook
This video is a little longer than it needs to be to make its point, but it is a good illustration of how the MacBook can handle emulating 2 OSes whilst running OS X (thanks to Parallels).

"20. I'd like to see how well Half-Life plays on that, even with two gigs of RAM."
You would be hard pressed to see Half Life running well on that machine in any manner. Keep in mind the Macbook is a consumer level desktop that is not geared towards gamers. It has integrated Intel graphics and the integrated graphics borrow 64mb of ram from the system ram.
@Jon - That's why you have exposé. You don't NEED to have ten overlapping windows competing for space on a 13" screen. Sure, on my dualscreen setup I can afford to not have my windows maximized, but I'd be driven nuts on a tiny screen. Also, Apple seems to have maximized windows standard on all their pro-apps. It allows you to have large and clear workspaces. You can also really stay focused on your one project.

The browser does not need to take up the WHOLE FU**ING screen? The reason why it does not default to full screen is because on the Mac, you are supposed to have overlapping windows open, many at the same time. YOu have a 13 inch wide-screen: learn to use that space and not just have one program take up the whole screen.

Think you're going to do this with a stock 512MB macbook? haha think again! I tried getting paralleles up and running on my 2.0Ghz Macbook with 512, and I could barely even get it to load windows, let alone that once windows was running, I couldn't launch anything else, and it usually would just force me to hard reboot. The solution? 2GB ram coming straight to my door thanks to newegg ($165 for the matched pair). can't wait to try it!

The way you do it is to make a fresh boot and start up only one app (preferably an app using little memory like browser). I doubt it would be running that smooth with 2/3 OSs after about a week of regular usage with iphoto/aperture/photoshop/whatever_apps_that_require_bit_more_of_ram. Especially with X Windows. X is a memory hog.

I Need ONE!
I still wonder how it will performs using FCS and Adobe After Effects(when Universal version comes)
They arent using user switching, they are just using VirtueDesktop, a desktop switching app for OS X.
I run this on my MBP and it ROCKS, and is so easy to setup I dont know why you all think its so hard.
Step 1. Install VirtueDesktop - Setup the hotkeys to switch desktops etc... and pick your transition. (all screen transitions in OS X are available to any application.
Step 2. Install Parallels and switch to an empty desktop. Launch the program and install windows as you would on any pc.
Step 3. There is no step 3. Just use your hotkey and rotate between your desktops. DONE.
