Enable two-finger right-click on 15" MacBook Pros

Rejoice, fellow 15" MacBook Pro owners, for the enterprising hackers over in the OSx86 Project forum have put together an installer package that enables the fancy two-finger right-click for 15" MacBook Pros. This is a standard feature of the MacBook and 17" MacBook Pro, but the early-adopting 15" MacBook Pro owners were left out in the cold with this most essential and highly-requested of features.

The installer is linked in a forum thread here. An uninstaller is included, and you might want to peruse the rest of the thread for experiences and tips in case you run into issues. After all, this is a hack, so remember to cross your t's, dot your i's and post in their thread if you run into any speedbumps.

You can use iKey to create a Macro which sets the right click via trackpad automatically, everytime the MacBook Pro boots...at least until 10.4.7 updates things. ;)

Apple, for christ...

Just start putting a second button fcuking on your systems! Make the second button do the same thing as the first when running os x...

It really saddens me to see the typical poor Mac user having to fumble around without right click functionality. Goog god Windows users have had this since 1994.

Please get with it... you owe it to your loyal base.

#12: Not reinstalled, you sometimes need to disable/enable in the prefs pane after a reboot, I know I do. This is really more of a problem when I switch to XP and completely lack all these fancy trackpad enhancements, which is rare, and thus why I sometimes even forget to reactivate the right-tap in OS X when I reboot.

Stuck in the middle... late model PowerBook G4. Supports two-finger scroll, so iScroll won't install. Not intel, so I can't use this hack. Man... I could try that sidetrack program, but I'm so used to two-finger scrolling. Alas! ;)

Andy:
Yes, I can verify that iScroll2 works fine under OS X v10.4.6, on a 15" PowerBook (FW 800).

iscroll works great on the pre-scrolling ibook and powerbooks, I dont have track pad tap enabled on my G4 powerbook, but with iscroll I can use two finger scrolling and hold two fingers on the trackpad while clicking which functions as a right click, I even find this to be much more useful than having an entire second button like on PC laptops, if feels more natural and you dont even have to think about doing it.

iScroll 2's two finger right-click is slightly different; you need to hold down two fingers and click. With the MacBook, it functions like the trackpad tap, only using two fingers instead of one. Please refrain from posting if you have no idea what you are talking about.

And it DOESN'T need to be reinstalled every time for it to work, at least on my MacBook Pro.
