That looks pretty sweet. I hope spaces is as quick and fun as it looks!

Well, it's cery cool, and quite useful, but without a new, fresh Finder and the end of the brushed theme (I use UNO to insert the unified theme in all windows) there's nothing that interests me enough...

This actually showed up in demonstration at WWDC, I believe. Again, old news. Like a week and half old.
Man... seriously. Come on guys .... if _I_ can get stories like this, wtf are you guys doing?! Sitting on your keyboards, trying to make butt monkies come out or something?
Tuaw is getting slower and slower with the stories. It's starting to feel like HDTV on a regular 13" black and white around here.

Oh shut up John from Buffalo. No one really cares when you saw this story and it doesn't make you l33t that you saw it long before others did. It makes you pathetic.

This is a really great new feature in Leopard. It lets you switch between open applications much more efficiently and faster. But I hope that Apple is seriously working on a new Finder. Otherwise I'm not sure if I will buy Leopard...

do you think you would be able to mirror windows in different spaces?

virtuedesktop can not interoperate with exposé
and has dozens of tiny problems with usability (switching applications between docks and so on)
but it brings multi-desktop now. of course.

#3: IIRC, they didn't show Exposé being used *inside* of Spaces; they simply showed how easy it was to view all your desktops and move apps between them. If you have cluttered desktops (even using Spaces), being able to invoke Exposé from this Spaces desktops view is icing on the cake.

Can anyone explain what is wrong with the brushed metal theme? I personally like it. I even like the original Aqua theme, although I never really got to use it since my MacBook Pro is my first Mac.

Isn't this the same video (albeit a crappy version) of the previews that were posted on Apple's site a while ago?

I know it's still off topic but I have to add that it seems that Apple and Microsoft are moving in opposite directions in terms of the look of the interface. Apple is moving towards a more boring office use type of look while MS is moving towards a more "showy" type of look which OS X had in the earlier versions. I can't speak for the usability of the "showy" versions of these two OS's because I never used either for an extended period but it looks nice. BTW, I don't like the look of Vista particularly but I did like the original OS X 10.0.

#10: Ditto. I'm a big fan of brushed metal, and I've never understood where the hatred of it comes from. Adopting the "unified theme" in Leopard would be moving closer to M$, not staying ahead of it. I've never seen a poll of Mac users on this point, but part of me wonders whether the anti-brushed metal camp is merely a (very) vocal minority, or whether they actually represent the majority of Mac users.

Made this vid a while ago:Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS96vx4AqC4.
And has anyone seen the UI of the new preview? Well, personally, I don't like it... Take a look here:Â http://lifeintheunderground.com/l33t/preview.png (sorry my server's a little slow)
Also, to those who want to get leopard: It is not worth it, it is still in beta, so its very unstable. The only redeeming factor is spaces.
