Rig of the Day: Just an eMac

Simplicity is this week's theme for Rig of the Day, since my last pick was so very popular. Today's rig is eMac. by *nathan. An eMac on a pedestal, what more could one want? Nothing more, nothing less. It looks to me like this is an installation in a gallery, or an incredibly uncomfortable and inefficient office.
If you'd like to see your own rig featured here, simply upload photos into our group Flickr pool (which is full of things that are decidedly not rigs at the moment). We select one image to highlight each day, and crown a Rig of the Week on Sundays.

I personally enjoy the "less is more" attitude of the RotD as of late.
Besides, I would think any setup featuring Apple equipment should be uncomplicated and reek of style -- form following form.
I like how rig of the day has gotten back to a more regular schedual, despite their "simplicity". Always fun to see. Keep up the good work, Scott (and the people who actually take the pictures).

I took the picture and then uploaded it to Flickr.
Check my Flickr Profile and my website, and you'll see that the names match.
*cough* jerk *cough*
photoshopped or not, an eMac on a pedestal: right were it belongs.
August 29 2006 at 4:30 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhat's the point of a "rig" that only has the computer? (e.g. this and the MacBook on a bed). I mean, isn't the point of this whole feature to see interesting setups?
August 29 2006 at 2:09 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replysuuurreee... you're the photographer. Uh huh.. yep.. some people I swear....
August 29 2006 at 1:25 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhat has actually been photoshopped out is a bank of G5 PowerMacs running Ubuntu.
That's why the rest of the room looks so sparse.
As the photographer, I can confirm this wasn't Photoshopped, and Scott is correct when he says it was a placard explaining the exhibit :)
August 29 2006 at 11:26 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyConspiracy theories! I love it, though that 'sharp edge' looks like a placard explaining the exhibit to me. If you get in real close you can see the gentle curve of the eMac in front of the sharp edge.
August 29 2006 at 11:23 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyLooks to me like this is poorly photoshopped... anyone else notice the sharp pointy corner on the top right of the eMac?
Not to be picky, but I consider Rig of the Day to be for real rigs, not fantasy ones...
