Screenshots from the latest Leopard build

These little birdies just keep sending me stuff. First it was screenshots of the as yet unreleased SlingPlayer, and now I find some screenshots of the most recent Leopard build (the next version of OS X). As you can see above previewing files in the Finder has gotten an overhaul, with text files previewing text in their icon (sweet, but mostly useless unless your icons are really big, like in this screenshot).

Read on for a few more tidbits.
Here's a look at iCal's new look:

IE 7 was just released by Microsoft, and one of the biggest new features, other than tabs, is the anti-phishing measures. Looks like Safari 3 will also have 'em:

A close up of the dialog box:

Another suspicious website

And another close up of the warning:

Finally, a look at the new layout of Parental Controls:

I'd like to see either a preview pane in the finder or icons that can magnify like those in the Dock. There'd have to be some controls so you can disable the magnify or add a time delay before the effect takes hold, otherwise selecting and dragging could be overly complex.

There's plenty of room on the tool bar for another control, and the OS X finder window toolbars have always been customizeable, especially with growing screen sizes, so you can balance the clutter vs. functionality tradeoff.

As a Mac user for life, I can tell you that Maccies are no more savvy (and they never really have been) than anyone else. Just their computers are.

Heck, most Macs are made to be easier to use so that the users don't have to be savvy. This new feature's great- you can't knock Apple for making anything easier.

17. Josh: "The more Macs users there are, the more the user pool becomes polluted. Might need some chlorine."

As a recent switcher, I feel so welcomed to the Mac community reading that quote. Hopefully you drink some chlorine straight from the bottle, Josh :)

Chlorine makes the water safe to use. The items integrated into Mac OSX to keep it safer to use could be considered 'chlorine'.

@josh..mac users are typically far more computer illeterate than a weathered wndows user.
i've been a mac user for barely a year. my friend steve has always used a mac. somehow i've managed to learn more about using my computer than he has over several years.
when something goes wrong i'm the one he calls. and i get to tell him things like, "no steve, i dont thik you should put your battery in the freezer because your powerbook is randomly shuting down."

im excited about the leopard release. looks like they are going to use the Uno look?

Am I the only one who noticed how the dialog in the Finder's letter icon seems "off" for Apple. The "Yay for Leopard", the "It's better than you" and "It's the Apple way". Who made this up?

15. Still wondering about the text in the right corner of iCal, seems to read something like 'USU Central'. And it seems to be a dropdown-menu, but in a place where doesn't suppose to be one. Maybe it's related to Spaces?

It's not USU Central -- it's US/Central. That's in the current iCal if you turn on time zone support.
