BMG Japan catalog now on iTunes Store in Japan

I hear that TUAW is big in Japan, though I have no proof of that. However, it would seem that the iTunes Store in Japan just got a little bigger with the addition of BMG Japan's catalog. This means that many top J-POP and international artists, like Justin Timberlake, Outkast, and Foo Fighters, are now available for purchase on the iTunes Store in Japan.

BMG Japan will be adding more of its catalog to iTunes as time progresses.

I totally agree - I can scan all the Japanese music and listen to 30 second clips but they won't let me buy. Technically, selling imports digitally must be the most efficient way and might even make a real profit. Initially I thought it would be a licensing issue but now I think it's a pricing issue. Apple US doesn't want to entertain due pricing and the Japanese publishers won't sell for 99 cents.

I second that comment. It would be nice to purchase J-Pop from the US iTunes store. Seems fair, doesn't it? ;)

I know this won't happen, but I'd really like to purchase J-POP from the US iTunes Store, even if I have to pay a little bit extra for them, like I would to get an import CD.
