Found Footage: EasyPay

Blogging for TUAW is great. If I weren't blogging here I wouldn't have found
The video is about 57 megs and clocks in at a little less than 5 minutes long. UPDATE: Apple has informed us that the video is internal to Apple and not intended for public viewing, and therefore requested that we remove it from our server.

The video won't load past a certain point in my browser and when I download it (option-click) it won't go past 29.9mb.
What gives?

I'm not much of a commenter but I had to. That was just way too funny. Especially the old guy. Good find.

EasyPay has been around at least for quite a few months in the higher-volume southern calfiornia stores. It's basically a symbol technologies (now motorola) sytem running Windows Mobile or CE Embedded.
the apple implementation looks like CE embedded.
It's the same systems used by Hertz for their car returns and "#1 club gold" rentals. tres cool

You are not dumb. TUAW is broken for many links if you are using Safari 1.x or other older browsers. I have told them many times; they do not care. Apparently you must have at least Firefox 2.x (1.5 may work) to access all content on TUAW, including page 2, 3, etc.

The link was in the 'Read' link, but I've also added it to the post itself. Merry Christmas!

Thanks, folks. The "Read" link works for me in Safari 2.0.4. I just never would have expected that to be the link.

It's nice of them all to have put their names in the credits. That way when Apple corporate sees a public video shot on company property mocking a technology deployed at the stores, it'll be easier to fire the folks.

I used EasyPay at the Mall of America store back in March. The transaction went off without a hitch. I only wish the lovely Candace from the video was the sales clerk.

That guy in the blue shirt with the boombox would get it so hard. I'm going to that Apple store to find him.
