Naples Apple Store reveals new facade
Earlier this week we pointed out the new Apple Store opening in Naples, Florida this Saturday: Apple Store Waterside (doesn't that sound charming?). In keeping with our practice of posting photos of unopened stores, we're pointing out these shots of the exterior of Apple Store Waterside. The store front is stainless with a backlit Apple logo. According to ifoAppleStore, this is the first time this design has been used with an indoor, mall-based Apple Store. Check out the rest of the photos here (let's hope they wipe those hand prints away before Saturday).
We think it looks quite nice. Perhaps this will become the new standard...until they change their minds again.

"this is the first time this design has been used with an indoor, mall-based Apple Store"
Actually, the Waterside Shops are an open-air mall with wide, covered corridors. Nonetheless, these corridors are not enclosed and are still open to the elements (and to a nice water feature that extends the length of the mall).
I'm jealous I no longer live in Naples and can't take advantage of this new store. (Perhaps that's a good thing?)

Actually, the Apple Store in the Danbury Fair Mall has this facade, and it's been around for years.
Here's a picture from Apple's site: http://www.apple.com/retail/danburyfairmall/week/20070304.html

Both Apple stores in St. Louis have this look to them as well, and they are both in Apple stores. One of them being the "mini" store design.

Ummm, they also use this in the Yorkdale (Canada) Apple Store. This is an indoor mall. Also I think the one in Hawaii has it to..

The Apple store at Washington Square in Tigard has this same finish. The picture doesn't show the whole facade, it's a lot taller than that. Link: http://www.apple.com/retail/washingtonsquare/week/20070304.html

And Memorial City Mall, First Colony, The Woodlands... Actually, the Galleria is the only Houston-based apple store I can think of without the metal, but they're getting remodeled; that could all change in a few days. :)
