Pennsylvania Apple Store planned
Attention, residents of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. It looks like there's an Apple Store in your future.According to Mcall.com, Apple is scheduled to install a store in the soon-to-be-built addition to the Whitehall Township Mall. Sure enough, a quick look at Apple's jobs page revealed several retail positions are available for that location.
Since the mall's addition hasn't been built yet, we won't ask our operatives in Pennsylvania to start scouring the area for spyshots just yet. But still...be ready.
Thanks, Jan!

If you're going to give us a Google Maps extract (which is illegal), how about giving us an extract thats actually useful - maybe in context of the whole united states, or at least a large percentage of it. Your current map is useless to anyone except people who happen to know what the '248' road is or actually know the place in question... (in which case they don't exactly need the map do they?)

This mall is only a few minutes away from my house!
I go there about every week and have noticed the amount of work they're doing (both inside and out). Definitely excited for this. Pictures will be sent when they start working on it. ;)

PA does have an Apple store in King of Prussia, which is an over-the-hills western suburb of philly. Would be kind of a hike for the Lehigh Valley folks, but then I made that hike the other way to go skiing all the time. ;)

Finally!!! I hate driving two hours (both ways) to King of Prussia just for a quick chat with a Genius. Now it will only be a five minute drive.

Things are bad for Apple Stores here in Philly. But, of course, Pittsburgh has two stores in, like, a five foot radius.
Bah!

I hated having to make the trek to King of Prussia. Glad that Apple has recognized the Lehigh Valley's need for a store.

I can't understand why Apple doesn't have a store near the Penn State campus..I mean, it's a decently sized college, there have got to be a few Macheads around there somewhere...

I'm surprised they are thinking of building it in the Whitehall Mall. Last time I was there it was such a horrible mall. I'm surprised it wouldn't be in the Lehigh Valley Mall.

We have an Apple retailer here in the Lehigh Valley. Check out Double Click on Route 191 and 22. They have great tech support and free Apple classes. Justin Schneck can walk you through just about anything and if he can't help then Scott can. They sell everything from mac books to ipods and all the acutrements.

Um... I apologize for the "SIXWONOH" poster. Not everyone from the 610 area code is like that, I promise.
With that said... sweeeeeeeet! I can't wait to check the store out!

Regarding Pittsburgh:
South Hills Village Mall is not five feet away from Shadyside!
Shadyside = urban, near schools etc
SHV = suburbs, middle of sprawl-gatory

It would make a lot more sense to open an Apple Store in the Harrisburg/York/Lancaster area somehwhere. Better economy, higher population, more major highway confluences, more colleges/universities, more printing companies and ad agencies.
Not to take anything away from the AEB region...but they'd do better with a Johnsonville Sausage outlet store.

Awesome. It's in the extension to the Lehigh Valley Mall. (My local mall :-) ) I can finally get my iPod fixed.

Actually Penn State is very much a pro-Mac community even in the IT department...
And while you can get Apple hardware through the PSU Computer store, the general public cannot purchase things there...

Yes, it is the Lehigh Valley Mall. The original poster was being confusing. Who the hell would build anything in the Whitehall Mall?

While I agree we need a store here in Pensyltuckey, you have to realize we don't have the population density of the AEB area. Not to mention the average income around here is not the greatest.
I'd love not to have to drive to B-More or Philly, but the reality is that us in the midstate will be overlooked yet again. After all, we are the Ba$tard child of Philly and Pittsburgh.

I would like to see a mall here in the northeast part of PA. How about the scranton/wilkes-barre area? 3 great malls around here. Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre, Steamtown Mall in Scranton or Viewmont Mall in Dickson City.
