Retro MacOS Wordpress Theme

We don't usually cover Wordpress theme on TUAW, but I think we can make an exception for the Retro MacOS Wordpress Theme. Wordpress, in case you aren't familiar with it, is a very successful blogging engine which allows users to apply various themes to change the look of their blogs. Stuart Brown decided to try his hand at creating one, and he used System 6 as his inspiration. The result is a Wordpress theme that'll bring a smile to any Mac user's Finder (Ha! See what I did there?).
You can see the theme in action here.

There's also a modern version: "iTheme" here:

...and you can see the theme in action here where you can drag and drop the right-hand panels to reorder them:

Very, very cool - but the background gave me a migraine after 10 seconds or so! :(

Not bad, just wish the font was Chicago.

Mike Godwin has been using something similar for ~5 years: http://www.godwinslaw.org/
Originally his site was created with Quills (by me, from mockups Mike created), but when maintainership of the Public Knowledge websites shifted to other people the software was changed to (I believe) Wordpress.
Point being, if someone want's something similar but different they could maybe harass Mr. Godwin...

You know... it gets me thinking, the Finder 1.0 UI was so simple, and its paradigms are so canon these days (to the point of being incorporated in every gui environment), I wonder how perfectly you could build a CSS+PHP native version, complete with drag/drop of files, double-clicking a few programs, documents, everything...

Does anyone remember THE ALLTIME GREATEST Apple website http://www.appleturns.com/ They were going to go Aqua but stuck with the old (wasn't retro yet) and focused on FANTASTIC CONTENT. Oh man!
Yea, thanks for the "smile" :-)
