Apple issues iTunes Store credits
The Apple Blog is reporting that Apple has begun issuing Apple Store credit for customers who had trouble getting songs last week.It seems that several customers were unable to download purchased songs, despite having provided a valid credit card number. Specifically, Apple has issued an email that reads,
"Please accept the following Five Song Credits as an apology for the delay in receiving your purchase. These credits are good for five songs of your choice from the iTunes Store."
Have any of you received this message, or made use of your credits?

For the past 3 days I've been unable to download purchased videos from the iTunes store and, until today, my messages to support have been answered by apologies saying the store has been experiencing heavy traffic and "some problems." But the response I just received says "Apple takes the quality of the items offered on the iTunes Store seriously and will investigate the issue with this item, but I can't say WHEN OR IF the issue will be resolved. Please try again in a few weeks." They said I would receive a credit for the purchased TV series' but that's obviously not what I want, mid-way through the seasons and without any other access. WTF????

I got 2 free tracks and am still waiting for them to decide if they're going to give me the song or a refund. Both would be nice.
I had trouble, I had a support ticket. No credits for me.
September 21 2007 at 9:03 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyiTunes Store support can be very slow, but I haven't once had a problem they didn't solve eventually, and without much prompting. One gets the impression that the team is fairly small and a bit overworked.

September 20 2007 at 7:24 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYup, I got my five songs credit.. didn't work though. Got an error saying "This code is only valid for costumers of the US store." After sending an email to the iTunes Store I got a reply saying: I have sent this request to our engineering team so that they can look into this issue, and I hope to have a resolution for you very soon." Haven't heard anything new in over a week.
September 20 2007 at 6:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI didn't. Well, I asked for a refund while the problems were still going on. But as I was waiting for the refund, my 3 songs downloaded. Then a day later they issued the refund. Good enough.
September 20 2007 at 5:47 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyApparently I complained more than others. Before the problem was fixed I asked them to reverse my credit card charge and they did plus they gave me 5 song credits. I expected them to remove the 9 songs from my purchase history but they didn't so once the problem was fixed iTunes automatically downloaded the songs. Shortly after that I got the generic apology message and 5 more song credits. So, I ended up with my 9 songs for free plus 10 song credits.
I had issues with the iTunes store when I tried to purchase an album, asked me to update my card details. I did this tried about 6 times to purchase the album and it wouldn't let me...yet I didn't receive any credit. iTunes store seems to be down too at the moment :(
