MacBook Air in Apple stores this Wednesday?

You say you didn't pre-order a MacBook Air (unlike some bloggers I could name)? No problem! The Boy Genius Report says that Apple Stores already have them in the stock rooms (cleverly disguised as stacks of interoffice mail, no doubt), and they will be going on sale this Wednesday. The Apple Geniuses just need to get their bearings with the new laptops and all should be set.

Let us know in the comments if you spot a MacBook Air at your local Apple Store.

Per a telephone call to the Apple Store in West County, Des Peres, MO, they will not be going on sale Tuesday or Wednesday. The rep I spoke with said if that were the case, he'd know and would be able to tell me.

the king of Prussia (Philadelphia) store said they should have them in stock this Wednesday, when I asked last week.

People at two of the Apple stores in Virginia told me it won't be on the shelves until this weekend. Same message from the store in Soho NYC.

It's not uncommon at all for Apple Store's to get shipments of new products before online orders are received, even orders placed within seconds of Jobs walking off the stage.

I've got a MBA on order, but I'll also show up at the local store Wed morning. If I can get my hands on one, I'll cancel my online order. No big.

As the Air fits in an envelope, Apple should ship them this way, just with a stamp on the outside.

This page http://personafile.com/Macbook-Air.html reports that they will be in some stores on Tuesday. I just have to see one (before I buy it).

OMG, those dates are just as retarded as the site they are posted on! :(
I too will be very cheesed off if I don't get my pre-order before the plebs at the mac-store!
But what really annoys me is the 7 day delivery time; you can get romanian laborers smuggled over the border quicker than that!!

I pre-orderd my Air on January 15th it will ship on Feb 6. I would be a bit miffed if the rumor is true and I have to wait while the Apple store sells thinnovation.

somehow i doubt i would get fired for that. I'm simply telling everyone what you could find out at your local store. We don't currently have them in, and like you said, we usually don't get them until the day before, or most of the time, the day of.
