MacBook and MacBookPro get keyboard update
Please note, this is a firmware upgrade that will install an application in the utilities folder that you will then, in turn, need to open and follow the on-screen instructions. For a list of MacBooks that may need the update, you can look at the Apple support note.
If you computer has been affect by these issues, or if you are just inclined to installing all Apple updates, you can get this update by opening Software Update (Apple Menu > Software Update) or by downloading the installer package from the Apple Support downloads site.
Thanks to everyone that sent this in!

I have had this problem a lot. I installed the update, and I'm still having the problem, albeit less frequently.
Umm...since when does a keyboard have firmware??? LOL
I've never heard of such a thing. The cool part is...no reboot required after patching! :-)
I thought I was crazy. This is my first Mac and I thought that's just how it works. Nice.

How about an update to disable the irritating "tap" resistant Caps Lock key on the new (lame) slim keyboards. It's VERY annoying.
Thanks, but I don't need any help saving from myself from accidental caps lock!
I've never had any trouble with the keyboard of my MB, do I still have to update?

This initial keystroke problem has been driving me crazy for months, and Apple's tech note isn't quite accurate. Not only does the problem affect Macs that have gone to sleep -- if you even pause in the middle of a sentence, the next keystroke is often ignored.
