Tip of the Day
To get an instant map to any address, just go to your Address Book and right click on the address field of any one of your contacts and select "Map Of." The address will then be revealed in Google Maps on Safari. You can do the same if a data detector determines there is an address in an e-mail in Mail.

I´ve seen in a few webpages that the updated model will be the Macbook (in www.faq-mac.com they even say it´s confirmed).
Ryan Trevisol said 8:13AM on 2-26-2008
No, it's gotta be the SDK, even if it's worse than Androids . . . it won't take much, just enough to let Erica release all her apps for non-jailbroken phones!

Let me guess, 2gb iPod Shuffle. :)

You guys should just add that Apple Store status widget thingy to your sidebar.

The tore is down world wide so its probably something big.
When it was just the ipod touch update and the ipod shuffle the japan store and other international stores were still up. SInce the store is closed it is probably something big :)

It'll be a minor upgrade btw. No special trackpad, no new videocard. But more RAM, more GB and a faster processor.

As much as your sense of humour sucks, yes...
Ben said 8:38AM on 2-26-2008
Actually I do have both. So neither of you should be posting his 'funny' thoughts.

A couple weeks ago, I made an applescript to check to see if the store is online, it can be found here. http://danieltull.co.uk/files/scripts/IsAppleStoreOnline.scpt
By default it checks the American store every 30 second, Growling each time to say whether it is or isn't up. Enjoy. :) Thanks to the TUAW commenter for the command line script that this is wrapped in, I can't remember your name, sorry.

I ran it and it asked 'where is GrowlHelperApp.app'. Apparently this used to ship with something called 'growl' but the only website I can find for it seems to be dead.
Can you do a version that doesn't need this app? Or maybe ship it with the script (copyright allowing of course)?
Arnoz said 8:21AM on 2-26-2008
You need Growl (www.growl.info). But indeed, the website is down ATM. You can check the forums in the meantime at http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewforum.php?f=6
Daniel Tull said 8:29AM on 2-26-2008
Basically Growl is a notification utility, which displays messages. In this script it displays a message every 30secs saying not online, until it is (where it will say it is online!).
I've made a non-Growl version which simply beeps (because a dialog window you have to click to get rid of is annoying) when the store isn't online and gives a dialog window when it comes back up. This is at http://danieltull.co.uk/files/scripts/IsAppleStoreOnlineNoGrowl.scpt
If you want to get rid of the beeping every 30secs, just delete the line "beep" in the script. :)
