Today, Apple updated the
MacBook Air with the Bluetooth EFI update 1.0. Apple has yet to tell in any support notes what this update actually does.
However, for those souls that are willing to download and install the latest (un-noted) updates, you can find this update in your MacBook Air's Software Update app (Apple Menu > Software Update). You can also
download the 1.2MB update from the Apple support downloads website.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
[Update:] Since posting this story, Apple has updated the link information and has taken off the "EFI" on the title of this update.
You can find the update information here.

Does it allow you to use your 3G iPhone as a bluetooth modem?

Aren't Bluetooth and EFI two completely unrelated technologies? How weird...

Yeah, they got their news crossed. The MBA got EFI a couple days ago and Bluetooth today. Keyboard and something else on iMacs too. Big firmware week.

The link is definately bogus!
I checked software update with my AIR and nada!
Must be some mix up or phishing in progress.

The link was working last night. Apple has apparently updated the link/title and removed "EFI." I just updated the post. You can see all of the recently released Apple updates by going here: http://apple.com/support/downloads

When I play iTunes over wifi through my Apple TV speakers AND have bluetooth on I get interference in the way of choppy sounds. Bluetooth off, no interference! I hope this update will fix that.

how about a bluetooth update that actually matters - like giving me the ability to use my bluetooth stereo headphones? i really don't understand what's so hard about implementing this feature!

Similar to db, I can't use WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time. For example, streaming down from UStream + BT 'phones = unusable audio. Really hoping this Bluetooth update fixes this. On a side note, I need to find my BT headphones. Lost 'em again :/
