Beta Beat: Delish
If you're a Del.icio.us fanactic like I am, then you have hundreds, going on thousands of bookmarks. How do you view your 1,000+ bookmarks? If you use a web browser, then you're living in the dark ages. I am going to show you a better way to view your bookmarks that may leave you speechless.Delish is a completely new way to view your Del.icio.us bookmarks. You may ask, "What's so special about this. Can you not do this with other applications"? Well, no, because Delish is a way to view your bookmarks similar to the way you view your iPhoto images; as a matter of fact, the user interface is almost identical to that of iPhoto. When you load your bookmarks, Delish will automatically download a new snapshot of the page and use it as a thumbnail which can be enlarged for your viewing pleasure. You can also search through your bookmarks and view all of your tags in the left sidebar.
Another killer feature is reserved for those of you with one of those fancy new MacBook Pros or MacBook Airs, because you can zoom into your bookmarks by "pinching" the Multi-touch trackpad -- the very same way you can in iPhoto. The only thing missing from the application is the ability to add bookmarks directly from it, although this software is currently in beta and definitely has time to add this support later on.
Delish is currently free while in beta and can be downloaded from the Pine Point Software website.

This is why I love TUAW - quirky little apps. I thought Delibar was great, but this is a little piece of awesome. Why has no one thought of this before.

Just when I thought you couldn't get any sadder than actually using Delicious, I'm introduced to the pathetic world of alternative Delicious-bookmark-viewers for the truly discriminating loser.

So let me get this straight, every time I open this app, it's going to hop on the internet and grab a new screenshot of each page I've bookmarked? How long is that going to take? Yikes.

Do you really remember how sites look after a few months? I only remember content, thus I use my descriptive tags. Never understood page thumbnails.

I've always had Cocoalicious installed on my Mac. I don't use it much, but it's nice to have.
Deli Import is also great, it's a Spotlight plug-in.

I know it's a beta but there are many annoying bugs....
First, application could remember its dimensions and set up...it very furstrating to redo it after relaunching the application
Second, it seems to freeze after a while...it's been 10 minutes that Delish it stuck onto the same page... :(

Nice, I like this. It would be nice if they'd allow for a scroll-enabled mouse to do the same thing as you can on the trackpad of a MBP.

Awesome idea, but it only finds 4 pages -- although I've saved over 4,000.
Feels more like alpha software than beta.

Dumb question: what do I need to put for "Username" and "Password"? Do I need to contact Pine Point Software to obtain a username and password? Thank you.

Try WebNote from http://www.happyapps.com/webnotehappy/
It handles tags and comments superbly. I love the way it lets you browse through your tags. Once you select a tag it shows you another column other tags available from bookmarks with the tags you have already selected. It is kind of hard to explain but it makes a lot of sense when you use it. It allows you to drill down and whittle away until you only have a few bookmarks of what you are searching form.
