Rumor: Mac OS X 10.5.4 to be released 2nd week in June?
There's action on the Leopard update front. We've been told by reliable sources that the next point release of Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5.4) will be released on June 12th. This update will include the usual bug fixes as well as support for the to-be-announced Mobile Me service. In addition, we have reason to believe that this update will also include support for a new piece of Apple hardware. What is this mysterious computer? We have no idea, but we're hoping all will be revealed during WWDC.

The title of the article is:
Rumor: Mac OS X 10.5.4 to be released 2nd week in June?
Since "rumors" tend to be unsubstantiated bits of info that may or may not be true that get circulated around with varying degrees of accuracy, technically, the whole thing should be taken with a grain of salt until it is verified.
The author made this quite clear by prefacing the title with "Rumor"!!! . IMO
Maybe there's a graphics update in there for the Macbook Pros now that law suits are being mentioned..?

A sure thing to hurry up some bug fixes..
Hoping for OSX to finally work with CS3.

Chances are there is a new Mac Mini replacement on the horizon. Perhaps its the consumer tower we've been screaming for, maybe a Macbook Touch who knows but there is something being replaced in the Macware offerings... Rumor or no rumor. I'm surprised someone hasn't leaked any photos yet they are keeping things hush hush there in Cupertino!

For OS X 10.4.3 and 10.4.6, Apple put out a DVD for those of us (30% ??) that could not download those humongous upgrades.
So, for OS X 10.5.xx, is Apple deserting those of us who still must rely on a dial-up connection?
Well, if you're in that fix, you have to buy an external modem from Apple (or look for some ancient modems), as all the current iMacs and others aren't equipped for dial-up operation.
I guess Apple just consideres all of its users to be on broadband.
Nice?
A very long-time Mac user who can't access broadband.
I hope that 5.4 includes full Exchange support for Apple Mail. If so, I can be completely done with the sorry excuses for programs known as Outlook and Entourage...

June 05 2008 at 11:19 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyObviously 10.5.4 will come soon enough, but I can't get over the fact that 10.5.3 was just released. Wouldn't it make sense to just bundle the two together and release it when the new products are announced?
June 05 2008 at 10:44 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis would be nice, as I am guessing that 10.5.3 made my MBP's burner unable to burn dual layer DVDs 90% of the time. The annoying part is that I wasted quite a few of them learning this, and they are moderately expensive.
